In '89, after hitting 32 home runs and driving in 105 runs in the American League, he joined the Raiders in Week 6 and went on to gain 950 yards rushing on 173 carries, the sixth best total in the AFC. His 5.5-yard average ranked second in the AFC and third in the NFL. "Bo just adds a new dimension — he can make something out of nothing," said teammate Steve Beuerlein. "He's one of the few guys who can cut on a dime and accelerate to full speed in about one second." In Bo's fourth game in '89, a 28-7 win over the Bengals, he carried only 13 times for a season-high 159 yards and two touchdowns. Included in his total was a team-record 92-yard TD run. "Bo is as advertised," said Bengal head coach Sam Wyche. "He is one of those rare ones who comes along only so often. He will go down as one of the legends of the game."
